Seal and Metal Products of Latin America, S.A. de C.V. (SMP), founded in December 2000, offers a full range of precision machining, finishing, testing and quality inspection services for industrial components. As part of its long-term plan, SMP purchased a 28,000 square foot facility in the Yucatán Industrial Park, a 500-acre development in Mérida, adding an additional 14,000 square feet in 2004. The Yucatán location, with its close proximity to the port of Progresso, provides a strategic base for manufacturing and distribution throughout North and South America, as well as global markets. To accommodate our worldwide market, SMP is both AS and ISO certified.

Today, SMP employs over 60 technicians with plans to continually expand this workforce. In its early operations, the company recruited from the top ranking students of educational institutions such as the Mérida Technological Institute and Metropolitan Technological University. SMP maintains that relationship for both recruitment and internships programs for exceptional students. Committed to developing a local labor force, SMP also provides significant hands-on training in advanced production techniques at their facility.

Seal and Metal Products of Latin America, S.A. de C.V. is a wholly owned subsidiary of Stein Seal Company, located in the northeastern United States. For over 50 years, Stein Seal Company has been a leader in the custom design, testing and manufacture of seals and precision components for the demanding and critical applications in military and commercial aircraft engines, power generation equipment, pumps, compressors, centrifuges, and both the military and commercial marine industry.
